North of London | I use the adaptive cruise control all the time but my problem isn't following too close (you can set the distance on my car) but on one occasion I was following another vehicle and leading us was a transport doing 1 km/hr faster than the truck it was passing.
I had a vehicle pass me on the right and then pull in ahead of me, my car then eased back because they were too close and the next one did the same thing. I gave up and went back to right lane until everyone got past the truck in right lane.
Again it is not the technology but the drivers.
