I’ll say that is very admirable to include that level of transparency with someone who may be interested in taking over.
A word of caution from my own experience…..age 15 and I felt like I HAD to keep the family farm going. Both my mom and dad had to work off to try to get close to covering bills in the 80’s. Siblings were gone and on their own …..and it was just, me.
Make sure they have a choice and view other options. How do you make life long decisions while being a teenager…? You don’t but you do make the best of it.
Agreed. He knows he has the option to walk away. He will be attending tech school for welding/machining, and has talked about starting his own shop on the side. Either way, I have confidence that he will be successful. |
