Subject: RE: white sauce

Western Oregon
I just fry a couple slices of bacon, Add a TBS of corn starch to a cup of room temp milk, whisk, then slowly add to warm skillet, bring to boil for 1 minute. Makes a quick, gluten-free, lump-free white sauce that is glossy, slightly thinner and a more velvety texture than flour. Add the crumbled bacon for flavor. I use it for creamed peas, green beans and asparagus. Not bad as biscuits and gravy either....James
