Subject: RE: Wheat damage?

Southeast Colorado
Night before last was our cold night. We hit 27 on one gauge, and 28 on another. I checked the dog's water dish before the sun came up when it was at its coldest............and there was no ice on it. (no, he doesn't live inside)

Through the years we've had to watch for late freezes (this one isn't late, the wheat is early) countless times. It's strange how a couple of times its really nailed us.........other times it does nothing. Lots of factors at play for sure.

We've traveled a little around in western KS the last couple of days.........and most of the wheat is pretty ugly. And it has nothing to do with freezing. But I suppose an untimely freeze could've made ugly even a little uglier. Doubt anyone will know much for another week or longer.
