Bought a new Bronco 6 months ago, nice vehicle, very pleased but has many " safety " features I wonder about.
Several past cars had rear view cameras, is that making us not simply look around before backing ?
This 'lane assist ' that bumps you back to center of lane - folks using it to pay less attention, text more ?
Light on side mirrors indicating vehicle in blind spot - don't really look ?
Car shuts off at redlight - good idea ?
BRIGHT lights- blinding oncoming traffic at night.
Use radio as a telephone, talk more.
Self driving vehicles ?
Trust tire pressure dash gauge ?
Are we becoming a "drive by instrument" society instead of a ' drive by sight " ? Like aircraft ?

I believe the stats would make it undeniable that technology makes things safer. Now, if tomorrow all the tech disappeared, and we were back to animal power and killing our own food, most of us would die.
Maybe that's what happened to prior civilizations that have disappeared with little evidence left behind. Maybe the people became completely dependent on a system that suddenly collapsed.
