Very southern Mn
Smelling that fresh dirt today, I will keep the farm. Farm just came up for sale next to a quarter I own. It brought many multiples what I gave for first farm (many years ago) to some fool. . ( me) . No regrets. Never thought I would have opportunity to buy it in my lifetime. I understand what Boone is saying, everybody is different. Everybody has different dreams but for many of us the dream is not always highest return but highest satisfaction. Probably will be after my lifetime if it proves to be a good investment for my children and grandchildren. Farmland with inflation factor has returned pretty close to Boones 5-5 1/2 percent bond or better and I can defer the gain to next generation relatively tax free and than they could do same again. Will it continue, I have no idea.
