 NEND | I have been using Quicken for over 30 years and my chart of accounts/categories in Quicken is ever evolving. If I shared mine with you, you’d probably want to make changes. Might want to have some input with the person who does your taxes. I have our farm and personal data all on one file. I have a category called Farm Inc. and all the farm income categories under that main category. So I have no transactions categorized as just “Farm Income.”,they are all in sub-categories Indy Farm Inc. same with Farm Exp., Pers. inc., Pers. Exp. You might want to correlate your categories with the lines on Schedule F, etc. Or make your own to your liking. If you want to deviate from the tax forms for whatever reason, you can link categories to tax forms/lines and print reports summarized by tax lines (pulling data from multiple categories). |
