Anderson County Kansas | I didn’t mean that directed at people who have no one to continue it. It’s more at the post that say treat all the kids equal if they want to continue or not. Don’t buy that adjoining farm it’s too high. Why do you need more land? Personally I have 2 nephews here and 2 sons farming with us now along with my brother and retired dad when we are busy. My wife and I have been buying land so we have the base to support them all. I have seen how hard my dad, my uncle, and my grandfathers worked. I feel that even though my grandfathers and uncle are gone, their decisions and hard work still allow the generation behind me to be here. So my decisions are based on what’s best for them not me. So I will continue to buy overpriced land, build bins even though it’s not in my financial best interest but theirs. | |
