East Arkansas | White Shadow, great post and quite a legacy. I’ve often thought about the return…or more specifically the lack of return on ag assets and the need to diversify into other businesses.
The finances of the haves (families with capital) and the have nots has never been more extreme. 30myesrs ago you could rent a fsrm and with crop share agreements could use the crop as collateral for financing. Cant do that today.
I honestly really struggle with this…it takes more capital to farm now but 30 years ago guys made a much better living compared to today’s world. | |
