No, it will taste different. Because of the dehydrating properties of the sugar. Not because of the sweetness the sugar. Only extra sugar added after the curing process would make it taste sweeter.

Dextrose added to meat Farce like chicken nuggets or sausage is for structural integrity not flavor. Again because of its hygroscopic nature. It absorbs moisture which will be retained during cooking yielding a juicier end product. Not because it's sweet. Another reason dextrose may be added to a farce is to feed starter cultures of bacteria.

Obviously there are some products where sugar is added for flavor. But most processed meats are adding sugar for chemical reasons. The reason you can taste the honey flavor in a ham. Humans can detect the flavor of honey at extremely low concentrations. This gives the ability for food companies to add honey at super low amounts and give people the same satisfaction of higher amounts of sugar. The literal antithesis of both your and clodbusters original posts.



Sugar feeds cancer. Avoid it at all cost.
