Subject: RE: Tigermate 2 shanks tripping

I’ve had a TMII since new in 2008 and I’ve liked it overall and it’s done a good job, but as this stuff has started to wear out, it does seem like kind of a goofy design with no way to easily renew that hole that the bolt and pipe saw into. I have thought about replacing all the trip assemblies, would get the higher trip force then, but would have to replace the shanks too since they are slightly thicker. Yes it would cost a lot, but price a brand new 40’ double fold unit, and that kinda blows one’s mind too. All the rest of mine is in really good condition, it’s been kept inside and frame has never cracked or anything, and we’ve replaced a bunch of stuff on the drag already. The question is, would those new spring trip assemblies be improved in any way besides a little more trip force?
