NE Iowa | Bought a bull a little over 2 years ago that had great growth EPD's but not as good of calving ease as I normally buy. Only had to pull one calf last spring but this year is a different story. His calves are all really big. Pulled more calves so far then last 5 years combined. The relatively mild winter and good feed could be a player also. I decided to sell the one problem bull and buy another but when looking at the old ones EPD's I noticed they changed in the last 2 years. The top pic is a picture of a printed EPD's from back when I bought him. The bottom pic is the current EPD when I look them up today. How did the calving ease EPD go from 12.1 to 8.6? All of his EPD percentile got worse. Did the Simmental association adjust / recalibrate all their number or something?
