The farmer paying themselves living expenses out of the cost of production and then saying they didn’t make any money is the same concept as a guy that works in town for 100K salary that spent 100k on cost of living. So can that guy say he “didn’t make anything” also? His W-2 would show otherwise.
Making 500k and then giving it all to the local John Deere dealer is another ploy that gets used a lot to say “they didn’t make anything”.
You can’t pay yourself and then in the next sentence say you didn’t make anything. Doesn’t work that way. | |
