Most southerners are on crop share rental programs. 25% is common. 180 bushel rice at 5 dollars with 850 production costs. 900 gross-225 rent, 675 is the net on 850 production. Sadly these are real numbers.
Can do better with beans in this area. I don’t know what is going to happen in large parts of cotton and rice country if this continues. Massive change in rental structures, a lot of land not being farmed…who knows.
