There's a reason you cant find those varieties. Its old technology with yield drag.
There's more and more switching to the Westbred and other hybrids.
Seed sales of bin run are down significantly.


I'd rather have 20 to 30 bushel 16% protein than 60 bushel 9% protein.

It is why we have kept the old varieties, does it yield great? No, but does it usually have good protein and test weight or good enough to still beat newer varieties at the elevator for price? Yes.

$/acre of profit is more important than bushels per acre. It is why we are going into row crops. Corn had shown it beats every small grain in profit per acre here so far in our trials. For wheat to make sense growing here you'd need $6 constantly. Corn only needs $4.
