I highly doubt wheat acreage will ever get as low as oats.
A lot
It's easy for some corn/bean guys to swear off wheat.
But there are definitely arid areas where wheat is the only crop that yields.
Corn, soybeans, Edible beans are not an option.
Corn yields better than spring wheat in this arid region. Corn yields about like winter wheat. 40 bu on a good year when spring wheat would do 20 bu with poor test weight. |
