North Central US

This all started because of the British and the Soviets like all of our problems in the middle and far east.

Still trying to be an empire the British invaded Iran in the 1850s. It didn't go well. Britain and the Soviets invaded Iran in 1941 to secure oil to fuel ww2. After the war the now country of Iran nationalized the oil companies that had come in to rob them of their oil. The USA and British needing that oil then used the CIA and MI6 to do what they do best and Do a coup. While our chosen leader for another country was in we the United States started their nuclear program. Then the people got mad and overthrew the puppet government we had installed.

That is a gross oversimplification of history but it's more factual than saying it's a country that has been at for centuries. Unless of course you were speaking of the USA. We have been at nearly constant war for centuries.

The British originally discovered and built their oil industry.
