Malta, Illinois | Those talks were destined to fail before they even began. Vance was sent on a fool's errand. You can't negotiate with terrorists and others who hate you. We should have kept their nuclear program in check with needed surveillance and attacks when necessary. Launching a war against them was foolish and will have long lasting implications. We are seeking a graceful way out now but The Strait of Hormuz is standing in the way of that. However it turns out, it will be sold as a win for the United States whether we actually gained anything or not. They still have the potential to build nukes, the current leader is more hard line than the guy we killed, and we are fighting to keep oil moving and bring down energy prices. What a mess. I hope the Department of Homeland Security and all of the intelligence agencies are on their toes. This whole deal will further motivate the radicalized muslims that already want us dead. | |
