I don’t know what the percentage was but I do know there was less dry out on here last fall due to prices. As for prepay I think the guys that have started doing it continue to always do it for tax reasons. once you start it’s hard to stop prepaying expenses without paying taxes. May farmers single goal for the year is to not pay taxes so there’s that. As for fertilizer going up a bunch in season here it seems it generally goes up the cost of money, but at 7% interest on $800/ton for 6 months that can be a decent amount, but one may be laying that interest either way. I’ve now heard at least farmers on the radio talk shows “very concerned” about fertilizer prices this fall for the 27 crop as they have already everything on for 26. This woa is me BS is really getting old. The 26 crop isn’t even planted yet and we are crying about next year? Good grief what a society we have become.
