Logic is not your strong suit. If there was no new US production since Obama, then we'd be in a position closer to Australia, except importing from Canada and Mexico instead of Asia and the Persian Gulf. US oil production doesn't directly benefit consumers directly in the short term, so we should all go on welfare, I mean universal basic income, and make the rich pay for everything because they have so much money they'll never notice the difference, that's about how much sense it makes to believe domestic oil production doesn't benefit us.
