If you have the grass I’d buy some. I’d buy something younger and reputable. Around here it seems that cow sales at sale barns are just cull cows being passed off, which could be with the age you’re looking at. And keep your heifers.
I started my herd at the last high point in the cycle and now I’m glad I did.
