North Dakota | I don’t know what neighbors are doing. But personally at around 85% of needs before 1st of year. Invariably fert prices rise after fall application. Very rarely the opposite. So figure it into my cash flow and marketing strategy. I assume my area is similar. No winter wheat and very little top dress happens but that is changing with more corn acres entering into the mix.
Don’t dare do much more than 85% as no storage on farm and storage costs could be very detrimental. No drainage so if I have a wet spring things can get ugly quick.. | |
