Central Missouri
I add weight to the planter tool bar, yes .With the brackets and 4 total weights, I think it amounts to 1,000 total pounds (can’t remember the exact weight of the brackets). Spread out over 6 rows that’s just over 150 additional pounds per row unit.

I have the heavy down pressure springs and run it in the third setting which I believe is 250lbs of downforce per row unit. The additional weight on the toolbar simply allows me to get to that 250lbs without causing the parallel arms to no longer be level (if parallel arms are not level that means the springs are lifting the planter toolbar rather than applying the specified down force to the row). Any additional weight on the toolbar in excess of the 250lbs per row unit just gets transferred to the drive wheels at that point. No different than adding fertilizer tanks to a planter. It all adds weight
