Big Ben - 4/10/2026 16:06  Why regardless? If they’re using the church rules to advantageously get out of some taxes, that’s not right, but if they’re paying taxes like anyone else what’s wrong about it? It’s really no different to you than any other individual or entity buying it up.

Because I don't believe that it is proper for a church to accumulate wealth.    A church should be doing good with the money it is given, investing it in people, not in for profit assets.

Is it improper for people or businesses to accumulate wealth? If they’re taxed the same, what difference does it make if it’s a church, an individual, or an LLC? And if it’s not your money, what’s it to you?

If anything the Mormon church IMO is better at taking the money they do make a putting it to work on missions. They’re absolutely embarrassing other churches when it comes to number of missionaries proportional to their membership they have at work in just about every place in the world where they won’t be murdered for ministering. What money the church makes is sent out on missions or is reinvested into making more, not going to a bunch of seven figure suits with a three letter acronym behind their name. In that respect, they are doing way better than most every other corporation of similar scale.
