Central ND | I put a Gen 1 on a ground drive, spring downforce 1790. Best thing I ever did for my sunflowers. I could really dial in my double eliminators and singulation.
You'll need the screen, a smart connector, which I recommend the Gen 2 version that's more square and flat. At least 1 RUM with the correct weigh pin, I run 3. One on each wing and one on the center section. You might be ok with 2. I also use my RUMs to read vac. They definitely helped me dial in downforce, see my good ride, etc. I'll now plant soybeans up to 7mph.
I think I'm in it between 1500-2000 but that was about 5 years ago.
I highly recommend it. It was leaps and bounds for me ahead the John Deere 350 especially when it came to singulation, skips, doubles, downforce, good ride, etc.
I'll be planting corn for the first time this year.
Not sure the cost to go down air downforce. My springs have been good enough for me.
