Dose anyone have prevenative or cure for Edge Effect.
I have a stretch of ground on the east side of wide 2 lane highway
in central Iowa that gets hit with Edge Effect every year it is corn.
It is rotated corn/bean. Fall Nh3/ spring 32% with herbicide.
Good fertility, well tiled high CSR. Usually great planting conditions.
Effects into field about 30-50 rows.
I have tried about all the squirrel pee and wizzard dust that I care too.
Anyone else been able to cure this?
TIA for answers.

Are the brown silks getting eaten off by Japanese beetles around the edges? Not usually a huge pollination issue in my experience as luckily they don't eat fresh silks as often, but eating off the brown silks still allows the ear to be more easily entered by other pest plus seems to sometimes cause a drought effect.
Actually the main reason I quit C/SB strips years ago as it seemed the perfect storm for extremely high populations of Asian lady bugs to develop and cause the edge effect with the corn all across the field, especially on the West side of the corn with N to S rows.
