I recently had to go to Iowa City for a specialized operation. The hospital gave us a list of Hotels/Motels that offered a discount for patients and their families. We chose The Heartland Inn because my wife wanted a place close easy to get to and from the hospital. It cost us $20 a night less than the regular price because of the medical discount. The room was as nice as many we’ve stay in, it was quiet and comfortable. A couple of things, the free breakfast (I wasn’t allowed to eat J) was pretty nice. They had free coffee, hot chocolate and I think espresso all day. While we were there they had a supper. Not elegant but more than adequate and it was free. While there was only one bathroom in our room I was surprised to find 3 bathrooms between our room and the lobby. All were pretty nice, clean and certainly an asset for people with medical problems. A well lit parking lot of generous size was nice too. I know this might not be of interest to a lot of people but if you are going to University of Iowa Hospitals in Iowa City it might be of interest.
