Building a 19 foot diameter hopper bin this summer. What length of auger would work good to unload this bin. Looking at pto drive. thinking 8 inch diameter, so would need room for a small tractor. Looked on Westfield auger website couldn't find any thing. Thanks
I think most of the auger companies have a low belt drive pto option that would likely work. We use a 10"x36' Westfield pto drive for 18' hopper bins and see no reason it would not work on a 19' diameter bin. Also use a Sakundiak 8" x 45' auger with a 7.5hp electric drive on some 19' hopper bins. Unless there is some reason that an 8" auger is more desireable, I would likely be more inclined to a 10" auger truck loading auger. Recently switched to a Meridian 12" pto auger for the majority of the truck loading. 36' is a nice length for a truck load auger.
