Subject: RE: Cost to trade newer MFWD tractors

SE VA/NE NC
Do plenty of research on price comps, both on the buy side and sell side. I even make spreadsheets comparing features, putting values on them, scoring them, etc. Im not afraid to buy long distance. In fact, i can ship cross country 10-40x cheaper than paying the markup for a comparable tractor from my local dealer. Thats not hyperbole. I like my local salesman, but i share the deals with him that I get to show him that hes losing business because we have access to a nationwide pool of inventory now instead of being stuck being a price taker from our local dealer. Maybe one day itll sink in with them so i can support locally. Hopefully im not the only one but frok the looks of it, im not so sure.

I dont make enough money on crops, so i damn sure better save it elsewhere.

8R deal was a few months ago. 8RX was last spring.

8R - 800hrs, 8345r - 5000hrs (traded for $35/hr)
8RX - 2250hrs, 8430 - 5600hrs (traded for $56/hr)

Each trade was 13 years newer.
