Southeast Washington | The merger here has taken a couple independent dealers that were the best in the business to closing one from a fully staffed operating business with shop to 2 employees now at a strip mall store like Montgomery Ward catalog store near the airport to chase parts and no techs. It's been hard dealing with the new vision when they have to pull someone in from nearly 300 miles away in a whole different environment to give an uninformed appraisal on your equipment.
One farmer here has traded combines every two years for nearly 30 years and they didn't even approach him to trade. Another dealer came in and got the business and even sold him one of the big stores combines for them. So far the big merger stores haven't impressed us. | |
