| Yes, I feed mainly Holsteins. JBS Plainwell is just an hour and a half south of me so seems to work well. What I meant was, my $1.93 minus basis contracts,that I still have to ship yet,just will still make me a good profit because those were much cheaper feeders when I bought them, just bugs a guy to sell fats for 2,700 and turn right around and pay 2,400 for cattle that need to be fed for 8-9 months yet. Just have to keep bumping operating line up, still profitable. I don’t think we dare quit protecting every we buy when things get this crazy. I’m in my 40s so haven’t seen as much as some of you all, but we could have $180 live cattle by the time some of these get sold and there would be people in a world of hurt if they get complacent | |
