| This winter I purchased a JD 4730 sprayer that had Ag Leader Right Spot installed 2-3 years ago and has operated with the Right Spot system for the past 2-3 seasons. The previous owner ran an Ag Leader 7500 receiver to operate the Right Spot. I have all John Deere boundaries, so I am utilizing a JD globe splitting the GPS to feed into my 2630 for guidance and into my Incommand 1200 for sprayer functionality and swath control. All the GPS feed appears to function correctly to both monitors today. I just wanted to add that piece for background.
The other thing that changed on this sprayer between me and the previous owner was the dealership that we purchased the machine thru wiped the Ag Leader monitor during the machine inspection so we reconfigured the Incommand system when I got my hands on the sprayer.
About every one out of 8-10 times of cycling the Incommand/Ag Leader system ON/OFF, I get an error code at start up that I have lost communication with:
CAN NODES LOST
-Auxillary Input Module (129)
-Vehicle Interface Module (236)
I restart the Incommand 1200 and communication is restored throughout the system.
I have replaced both harnesses that feed into the VIM, the harness that T’s into the JD armrest harnessing, added a new terminator, pushed firmware updates, and swapped the Vehicle Interface Module itself. But I get a failed communication error 10-20% of the time I fire the system up.
Yesterday afternoon I had to drive the sprayer out of the shed, so I started the machine and fired up the Ag Leader system. Everything communicated as it should. I turned the machine off and let it sit outside for about an hour, but I forgot to turn the Incommand 1200 monitor off during this time. When I jumped back in the sprayer to put it back in the shed after an hour, the Incommand 1200 was still communicating (machine off). I started the sprayer and about 10 seconds later, the Incommand flashed that I had lost communication again. I cycled power to the Incommand twice and communication was restored to normal as I backed the sprayer back in the shed.
Thoughts or strategies to evaluate next?!?
