Iowa | There is nothing to concede to. Near as I can tell we are presenting the same facts.
Like I said above I think it's ridiculous it takes that many acres to buy another.
Yes I feel a 2000+ acre landowner is somewhat rare as a percentage of landowners. I can think of probably 10 right off hand within a 20 mile radius that you see regularly at auctions. Thing is- If only 1/2 of them show up at an auction that's more than enough to have a good sale.
The big thing is no where did I state that the rental income was the sole source of funding for the next purchase. Remember I said most of these folks made their money somewhere else. I simply said I think owners are using that rental income to roll in to and HELP fund the next purchase. Key word being Help.
And if their rental rates are the same now with $4 corn as they were with $6 plus corn-I don't think the drop in commodity prices has had much of an effect on them in that aspect.
