No. You're not right. Alfalfa makes the ground harder. All nitrogen fixing legumes that leave excess n in the soil collapse soil structure. Combine that with multiple trips from cutting rigging, tedding and baling packing the ground. Alfalfa has the worst infiltration rate of anything in my area. |
