| Red oak made the statement than ethanol was a lower net gain the gas.
My understanding was that by the time the oil is found, drilled, refined and distributed, that it takes about 9 gallons equivalent to deliver 1 gallon of gas.
I have no idea where I got that info. I read it back when ethanol was getting started.
I just checked Google. It stated that 20% to distribute, 20% to refine, and 20% to extract.
NO mention of the costs born by the government.
Oddly enough it stated several times in the same article the 20% in general terms, not mentioning that was only distribution. | |
