You sold good cattle at a good price and had to pay a hedge fee.
$3100 fats a guy should be laughing his way to the bank in this market. Maybe I'm just a glass half full kind of guy.
I get it with the marketing. I locked in corn beans and at the time I thought i was doing good and I was happy at the time. but when it comes to sell the market shifted and I kick myself a little bit because of hindsight....
At the time we made the contract it was a good decision.
And having to pay a little bit of a hedge fee on great money for cattle. I guess I I missing something here.
How are we not celebrating the markets, how often are we going to be able to say I sold a group of six weight heifers and 7 weight steers averaged $2k profit per head. Funded the farm for 26'. | |
