| When refining crude the refinery produces an 85 octane fuel and 91 octane fuel.
They mix the two together 50/50 to offer the clients 87 octane regular fuel.
They mix 90% 85 octane fuel(crap fuel) to 10% ethanol to offer the client 87 octane ethanol
They mix 90% 87 octane fuel from the previously stated mix and 10% ethanol to give the clients 89 octane mid grade.
They offer 91 octane premium blend which is 100% petroleum
They offer premium ethanol which is 90% premium grade plus 10% ethanol to give the customer 93 Octane rating.
Then there is a E 88 which is 85% crap fuel and 15% ethanol which gives a 88 octane rating
And E 85 is 15% crap fuel and 85% ethanol.
