We are in a part of California that is copper deficient. Rather than feed minerals some put a handful of copper sulfate, some call it blue stone in their water tanks every time they check them. Kills the algae too and water is always very clear. But also kills goldfish you might have in tank as well. But copper also gets toxic if you feed to much.
