I too struggle with the difference between ‘all that is required for evil to win/flourish is for good people to do nothing’ and giving a man a fish vs teaching him fish/each to their ability.

I think we benefit a lot from global trade making things cheap, but for sure the relative economic and military advantage the USA has diminished, and something has to change because we can’t carry all the water for the rest of the world indefinitely.

Change to the status quo is hard.
