Subject: What to update on a JD 750 drill to run shallower?

South Central Illinois

30 year old 750 drill,
Planting soybeans to feed the deer,
More than likely these fields will be replanted in May due to intense deer feeding,
Running in the shallowest setting,
A little deeper than I would like,
A little wetter than I would like also,
Wheat stubble, so not a lot of residue to hold the drill up,
When we get to the corn stalks it will probably be a little bit shallower,
We ran in the middle setting last Fall planting wheat,
That was good,
Fairly new gauge wheels,
Boots in the middle setting,
17” openers, new openers would be running deeper,
Running 500 PSI,
What, if anything, can be updated to run shallower?
