Subject: RE: Napa price and quality going downhill

The Napa we used a lot was bought by NAPA corporate when the local owner wanted to retire. The shelves started filling up with junk and trinkets. I talked to one of the counter guys that had worked there for years about it. He sighed and said NAPA hired a bunch of management from Home Depot. They saw the run up in Autozone stock price and they were trying to do the same thing to NAPA.

It's just the American way, build a brand on good service and quality, then when the time is right, cut every corner and take profit.
