| Beef calf here would be $2000. Dairy cross $1500 to $2000. Just my thoughts but aren't you doing a salvage operation grafting a calf? Could you find a free Martin holstein heifer or even a holstein heifer? Cost would be $400 to $600. Spend big dollars for a calf and it doesn't work now you really lost money. Yes at weaning the calf won't be as high dollar but the cow would get another go. | |
