| Have a cow whose calf didn’t make it. No fault of her own and a cow that I really like.
I am wanting to try and graft a new calf onto her. I’ve got a few options and am undecided which is best. Dairy cross bottle calf born 4/5. Purebred beef bull calf born 3/27 or another born 3/15. Both still on their moms with current owner.
Bottle calf is younger and easier to work with. But has dairy and not as nice of a calf. Beef calves are nicer but older and I’m worried about them having too much of a connection with their real mom to switch to a new one… Anyone haves thoughts or advice? | |
