Thumb of Michigan | Electronic refund stuff goes on 1040 line 35b (routing number) and 35d (account number). This is SOP for CPAs (at least here) I don't know about 'accountants', hence why I always recommended to my clients to work with a CPA.
Even where I've volunteered at doing taxes (VITA site) we entered routing/account numbers for folks that we did tax returns for (free service to those with less income & senior citizens). The last few years the VITA site was at a local United Way office. Next year I plan on volunteering at an AARP site, where I'll just be helping senior citizens. The IRS is involved in the VITA site, hence why I use the ID.me credentials, it's how I had to sign in for the course work with the IRS to be 'qualified' to do free tax returns.
