I'm just a little younger than you and I remember watching the first man on the moon on an old TV that was failing so we could only see shadows moving around on the screen.
We were newly married and the TV was the one we had when I was growing up and we got it from my parents when they bought a new one.
Not much for a TV but better than no TV when we were still trying to furnish a house.

I have a grand daughter who just got her iron ring as she finished her engineering course and her younger sister is just finishing her first year in engineering 
Not sure where they got that from as I never had those wishes, I just wanted to farm.

That is part of the enjoyment of getting old is watching the youngsters start out on their lives and seeing where they go.
