Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa | Not counting the pre-existing cardiac situation.......modern gallbladder surgery is generally pretty much a cakewalk. The old, full-on surgical method was a seriously scary situation, but new technics take most of the risk out. My BIL was hauled to U of Iowa hospital by ambulance with what they thought was a cardiac event. Discovered there to be gallstones causing the pain. His gallbladder was removed laparoscopically on a Friday morning, sent home, rest......and he was sitting in the bleachers for his kid's basketball game that same Friday nite. Mine was done back in the stone ages and it was everything but an easy, quick recovery situation. |
