This year I'll be 80 and as I look back on my life the one thing that I have trouble wrapping my head around is remembering the things I've done. I doubt this will be relevant or relatable to guys/gals in their 30's to 50's but I wondered if any of you more in my age bracket experience that experience of "We are all ghosts of the people we used to be." In psychology, this is often called Autobiographical Detachment. It’s the sensation that the person who did all those things is a different "self" than the one sitting in the chair today. |
