E.Central MN | My brother stopped for gas in Chippewa Falls, WI a long time ago and a driver (who was drunk) of the car on the other side of the pumps went ballistic because the station attendant turned on my brother's pump first. The guy started punching my brother's hood, fenders and car windows. My brother finally got back in his car and would have run the guy over but when he dropped the clutch it knocked out the rear end. A few minutes later, the cops showed up from the police station a block away -- they had heard his tires squeal. The cops wanted to give my brother a ticket, but the drunk decided if he couldn't fight my brother then he'd start a fight with the cops. I don't know where they went, but the cops took the long way to take the drunk to jail (an hour to go 1 block?). When my brother went back the following week to pick up his car from a garage, a firemen said the drunk kept them up all night beating on the jail cell bars with his bare knuckles. The police dept and fire dept shared the same building. Those violent alcoholics are dangerous, even the cops hate dealing with them. | |
