Do you take a oath to be a volunteer? Just wondering if its a HIPPA violation to talk about. IDK
Absolutely, positively, beyond a shadow of a doubt, a first responder is held to the exact same standard that a medical professional is. Tommy is skating an extremely fine line by posting anything, no matter how innocuous it may seem to the average citizen. I don't think he has shared anything directly, but he has his name, and I'm certain any internet sleuth could figure out where and what department him, OR his son belongs to. Everytime he posts about a *really bad call* or seeing things that *no one should have to see* gives anyone with a computer or mobile phone the ability to figure out what the call was from the news. I'm guessing, like a lot of departments, his department has a zero tolerance policy on social media posting about calls. ZERO TOLERANCE means that, you post nothing. Tommy does not follow that. You guys that want to defend him, say he should be allowed to post whatever he wants, etc, you actually couldn't be further from the truth. These rules are to protect first responders, not censor them. You can go to jail for saying the wrong thing. |
