Chebanse, IL.....

50+ yrs ago we were primarily 1-shot PPI UAN.
A few yrs later we reduced the amount of UAN as only for a herbicide carrier PPI, applied balance needed as NH3
A few yrs later, we went 100% no-till & applied 100% of N as UAN with the planter via 2x 4x4.
A few yrs later we returned to conventional till & returned to PPI UAN/herbicide and sidedress balance needed w/NH3
Present day....split N sources: spinner spread AMS, PPI UAN/herbicide (32%) and sidedress balance needed w/NH3 and UAN (32%)

We've had our on-farm NH3 tank for quite a few years now. Have our own portables (w/JD Pit-Stop Pro). Have on-farm UAN storage and own transports. We haven't seen the regulation or insurance restrictions that some here talk about. Our NH3 equipment is inspected at least annually by IL Dept of Ag, sometimes more often than annually. No problems.
